Description For Software Engineer, Mail Platform

The Mail team at Apple is seeking a Software Engineer to help shape the future of Mail on iOS and macOS. This role involves developing APIs and frameworks supporting features like Priority Mail, Mail Compose, Remind Me, Undo Send, Scheduled Send, and more. The impact extends beyond Mail, contributing to the advancement of iOS and macOS platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing innovative Mail features and enhancing existing ones
  • Working across all layers of the application stack
  • Collaborating with other engineers to solve complex problems
  • Interacting with Mail Experience, Protocols, WebKit, and other iOS teams

The ideal candidate is imaginative, self-motivated, and passionate about craftsmanship and quality. This role requires strong object-oriented programming skills, productivity, excitement for working on products with large user bases, attention to detail, ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, and skills in diagnosing performance and memory issues.

Experience with Objective-C and Swift is a plus, as is knowledge of Internet Mail standards (MIME, IMAP, SMTP, POP, etc.), though not required.

The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, with additional benefits and potential for discretionary bonuses or commission payments.
