Apple's Audio and Media Technologies (AMT) team is seeking a Speech & Audio ML Algorithm Engineer to join their innovative team. This role sits at the heart of audio & video processing across Apple's product lineup, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, HomePod, Apple TV, and Vision Pro.
As part of the Audio Algorithms group, you'll be responsible for researching and developing cutting-edge machine learning technologies for audio processing. The team provides the audio foundation for crucial features like Phone Calls, FaceTime, Siri, Audio Content Creation, Spatial Audio, and Media Capture and Playback.
You'll work alongside other researchers to advance speech and audio technologies, implementing and optimizing features that push the boundaries of what's possible. Your work will directly impact billions of Apple customers through innovative audio solutions. Collaboration will be key as you work with multiple teams across product development, Acoustics, Audio Software, and others to integrate new technologies and build the future of audio processing.
The ideal candidate brings strong research experience in speech and audio algorithm development using machine learning, with a track record of shipping products, patents, or published papers. You should be proficient in C++ and Python, with hands-on experience in developing machine learning pipelines and real-time audio processing software. An advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is preferred, along with expertise in areas like generative machine learning, echo cancellation, denoising, source separation, and beam-forming algorithms.
