Apple is seeking a Wireless SoC RF Integration and Validation Engineer to join their growing wireless silicon development team in San Diego, California. This role is part of the wireless SoC organization responsible for all aspects of wireless silicon development, focusing on highly energy-efficient design and new technologies that transform the user experience at the product level.
As a Wireless SoC RF Integration and Validation Engineer, you will:
- Deliver an end-to-end RF integration solution, including DUT control development, pre-silicon emulation/simulation, and integrated RF calibration.
- Act as a central hub enabling different phases from design development to Apple product mass production.
- Be responsible for Wireless SoC-RF bring-up, final Silicon validation results, and compliance.
- Develop and integrate RF end-to-end DUT control sequences and verify them with emulation systems.
- Design and develop RF block and/or system calibrations, including algorithms and optimizations.
- Optimize and characterize RF performance (e.g., Psat, Mask, IP3, NF, ACPR, phase noise, lock time, return loss).
- Design RF test benches and implement scripts to control wireless-SOC and communicate with test equipment.
- Generate RF performance summary reports based on characterization results against chip specifications.
- Develop RF Calibrations and tests for Wafer ATE and Module ATE mass productions and analyze ATE failures.
- Develop RF FW based on Python reference scripts.
This role offers the opportunity to develop technical depth in both hardware and software domains, including understanding wireless transceiver architecture, RF systems, DSP knowledge, software frameworks, RF drivers, and embedded systems. You'll gain experience in delivering Apple products through to productization.
Qualifications:
- BS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Solid experience in RF parametric testing (IP3, NF, ACPR, phase noise, load pull, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of RF test equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, vector signal analyzer, vector signal generator, etc.)
- Strong wireless RF background and familiarity with RF systems fundamentals and transceiver architectures
- Proficiency in understanding RFIC block-level design schematics
- Experience with RF PCB board design, debug, and development
- Python programming skills (highly desired)
- Experience with embedded systems and C programming (preferred)
- Automation framework development skills
