Description For Staff Data Engineer (Manufacturing Experience Required)

Atomic Machines is revolutionizing micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler (MC) technology, enabling the creation of new classes of micromachines through digital, multi-process, multi-material manufacturing. As a Staff Data Engineer in the AI and ModSim group, you'll be instrumental in supporting manufacturing processes on our robotic platform. You'll design and maintain data pipelines, ensure manufacturing data integrity, and work closely with process designers and AI engineers. The role requires strong expertise in data engineering, Python proficiency, and manufacturing process knowledge. You'll lead data infrastructure development, implement real-time analytics, and collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and scientists. Responsibilities For Staff Data Engineer (Manufacturing Experience Required)

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data collection, transformation, storage, and integration systems
  • Develop data pipelines for ML model training and real-time analytics
  • Ensure real-time data handling for ML applications and process monitoring
  • Work with inspection engineers/technicians to collect datasets and validate manufacturing processes
  • Establish process monitoring frameworks and implement structured labeling
  • Develop online statistics and analytics for process control and optimization
  • Analyze observable time-series data for manufacturing processes
  • Work with process development engineers on data collection requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data workflows

Requirements For Staff Data Engineer (Manufacturing Experience Required)

Python
  • 6+ years of industry experience
  • Proven experience in data engineering, data flows, and big-data processing
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Proficiency in data storage solutions (Data Lakes, Cloud Storage, SQL, NoSQL)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, sensors, and process automation
  • Industry-level experience in manufacturing data collection and processing
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or related STEM field
