Lead Software Development Engineer

At Audible, a leading producer and provider of audio storytelling, we're seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to spearhead our security and fraud prevention initiatives. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, focusing on building and maintaining platforms that keep our products secure and protect our millions of global listeners.

As a Lead SDE, you'll be responsible for leading a team based in Audible's Newark hub, designing and implementing security capabilities that fight fraud and ensure privacy compliance. Your role will be crucial in championing security by design and developing tools that make it easier for developers to implement secure practices effectively.

The position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills. You'll be gathering business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and leading complex technical initiatives. Your responsibilities include writing high-quality code, driving architecture decisions, and mentoring other developers to cultivate technical excellence.

We're looking for someone with at least 5 years of professional software development experience, including significant time leading design and architecture of systems. You should have strong programming skills and experience mentoring or leading engineering teams. Knowledge of full software development lifecycle processes is highly valued.

The compensation is competitive, ranging from $151,300 to $261,500 per year depending on location, plus additional benefits including medical coverage and financial benefits. This is an in-person role based in Newark, NJ.
