Sr. Database Reliability Engineer II (Remote)

Axon, a company dedicated to Protecting Life, is seeking a Sr. Database Reliability Engineer II to join their Platform team. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale projects and solve some of the hardest cloud challenges today. The role involves managing a system that ingests tens of petabytes of video from hundreds of thousands of officers worldwide, ensuring accurate upload, safe storage, and proper audit-logging.

As a Sr. Database Reliability Engineer II, you'll lead coding efforts, participate in datastore optimization, and build automated platforms for managing datastore technologies. You'll collaborate with peers across Axon to facilitate application design and develop best practices for datastore utilization. This role requires extensive experience in software development, complex system design, and cloud architectures.

Key responsibilities include leading code reviews, standardizing Axon's datastore platform, and building a k8s-based platform for datastore lifecycle management. You'll also partner with application teams to troubleshoot and optimize datastore usage.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of professional software development experience, a strong background in microservice architectures, and depth in cloud services. Experience with observability platforms, various datastore solutions, and Infrastructure as Code is essential. US citizenship is required due to the handling of classified federal data.
