Senior Backend Engineer

Backbase is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their team in Cardiff. This role focuses on integrating the Backbase platform into customer systems through hands-on development and client collaboration. The position requires approximately six months per implementation, involving travel to build relationships and work directly with client developers on-site. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be responsible for writing high-quality code, conducting testing, and serving as a technical expert for backend-related matters. The role combines technical expertise in Java, Spring, and Microservices with leadership responsibilities including coaching client developers and providing platform training. Working in an Agile environment, you'll need to balance creativity with practical implementation, adapt to various work cultures, and handle high-pressure situations while meeting demanding customer expectations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills in enterprise architecture and integration patterns, along with the ability to evolve with changing software landscapes.
