Backbase is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Business Banking value stream within the R&D department in Krakow. The role focuses on creating solutions for banks to service customers and employees through engaging banking experiences. You'll work on Entitlements and Positive Pay features, contributing to fraud prevention and access control systems. The team follows the Spotify Model and Scrum methodology, with a hybrid working arrangement. Responsibilities For Senior Backend Engineer
- Contribute to new and existing functionalities
- Work on proof of concepts and technical improvements
- Take ownership of built solutions
- Collaborate with architects, QA engineers and other team members
- Participate in full software development life cycle
- Work in Scrum with two-week sprints
Requirements For Senior Backend Engineer
Java
- Solid background in software development including design
- Clear and confident communication across all levels
- Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written
- Solid understanding of Java, Maven, CI and CD
- Experience with relational databases and Spring JPA / Hibernate
- Experience with microservices (Netflix OSS is a plus)
- Experience with Cloud and Apache Tomcat
- Experience with non-functionals such as security, performance, scalability
- Solid understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns
