Baker Hughes is seeking an R&D Electrical Engineer specializing in Hardware & FPGA development at their Skaneateles, NY location. This role is part of the Waygate Technologies team, which leads the world in industrial borescope measurement capabilities. The position involves developing advanced hand-held remote visual inspection (RVI) hardware, working with embedded systems, and digital signal processing.

The ideal candidate will work on optimizing FPGA designs, developing Linux drivers, and creating electrical systems for world-class video borescopes. The role requires expertise in low noise, high bandwidth circuitry, power optimization, and digital signal processing. Responsibilities For R&D Electrical Engineer - Hardware & FPGA

  • Optimize designs within FPGA resource constraints and resolve timing issues
  • Develop Linux drivers for FPGA IP in Xilinx petalinux environment
  • Design and develop electrical systems for video borescopes
  • Develop electrical architectures and detailed electrical designs using Altium toolset
  • Execute cross-functional experiments to mitigate design risks
  • Develop and execute electronic manufacturing tests
  • Document products and technical data
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Work with production engineering for hardware issue resolution

Requirements For R&D Electrical Engineer - Hardware & FPGA

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related engineering degree
  • 4+ years of applicable, professional experience
  • Experience in FPGA Programming in VHDL and Verilog
  • Experience in Electronic Circuit Design and Test
