Data Reliability Engineer - Intern

Bayut & dubizzle are iconic, homegrown brands with a strong presence across the seven emirates in the UAE. As a Data Reliability Engineer - Intern, you will participate in projects involving the management of our hybrid cloud based on AWS and GCP. You'll have exposure to the latest technologies in data, analytics, and artificial intelligence, and learn to administer and monitor both batch and real-time data processing pipelines. You'll work in a modern cloud-based data environment alongside diverse co-workers, liaising with other teams to enable their success.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the administration of AWS and GCP cloud for data, analytics, and AI
• Ensuring system availability and proper functioning
• Setting up security and stability alerts
• Controlling and optimizing costs
• Managing backups and disaster recovery
• Administering various systems including GitHub, Kubernetes clusters, databases, and ETL platforms
• Automating tasks using Python and shell scripting

Requirements:

• Fresh graduate or final year student in technical degrees (e.g., computer science, engineering, maths, physics)
• Strong knowledge of Linux and shell scripting
• Knowledge of SQL and network security protocols
• Familiarity with data pipelines and job scheduling
• Ability to work under pressure and self-motivated
