Description For Web Developer

Benchling is seeking a Web Developer to join their Marketing team. This role is crucial in creating dynamic web experiences for Benchling.com, combining front-end, back-end, and design responsibilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate with marketers to craft a world-class web presence that is visually compelling and optimized for performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building easy-to-use and performant websites
  • Participating in the full development lifecycle
  • Collaborating with the Creative team on website designs
  • Developing responsive pages using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and nextJS
  • Improving CMS authoring experience
  • Managing tool integrations for tracking website performance
  • Implementing technical SEO fixes
  • Managing the web hosting platform

The role requires 4+ years of experience in full stack web development and design, proficiency in HTML/CSS/Javascript/GraphQL, experience with modern front-end UI frameworks (Next.js preferred), and strong experience with headless CMS (Contentful preferred).

Benchling offers a competitive salary range of $112,000 - $152,000, based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and work location. Responsibilities For Web Developer

  • Build easy-to-use and performant websites serving multiple partners across marketing and design
  • Participate in the full development lifecycle, including estimation, design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Collaborate with Creative team to develop website designs and page components
  • Build responsive and optimized pages and page templates in HTML, CSS, Javascript, and nextJS
  • Improve CMS authoring experience to simplify and fast-track web content creation
  • Manage tools integrations for tracking website performance across the marketing lifecycle
  • Implement technical SEO fixes and recommendations
  • Manage web hosting platform, making updates for optimal performance
  • Review and respond to operational issues, escalating as necessary
  • Share regular release notes with technical and content/messaging updates

Requirements For Web Developer

  • 4+ years of experience in full stack web development and design
  • Proficiency using HTML/CSS/Javascript/GraphQL
  • Experience working with modern front-end UI frameworks (Next.js preferred)
  • Strong experience developing within a headless CMS (Contentful preferred)
  • Experience with best practices in code standards and working in a code repo
  • Experience working with design teams to bring to life UI/UX designs and components
  • Solid understanding of usability, responsive design, testing, and technical SEO
  • Experience working with APIs and integrating 3rd party tools/services
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and other technologies that track marketing data
  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools such as Marketo
  • Proven track record of taking product goals and requirements and delivering business solutions
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
