Description For Senior Android Developer

Blink is an employee app for frontline workers, boasting industry-leading engagement levels with a 99% DAU. As a Senior Android Developer, you'll be part of a world-class team building the Frontline of the Future. Your responsibilities include:

  • Working on the native Android application to make it best in class
  • Focusing on frequent code delivery and quick response to customer feedback
  • Collaborating within a cross-functional team on the Kotlin-based Android app
  • Debugging, bug fixing, profiling, and improving application performance
  • Enhancing build tools and developer experience
  • Writing clean, well-documented, testable, and maintainable code

The ideal candidate is ambitious, resourceful, inquisitive, and a fast learner. Key requirements include:

  • Proficiency in Kotlin and common Android Frameworks
  • Strong understanding of mobile databases
  • Detailed knowledge of architectural patterns
  • Skill in writing responsive, accessible, and maintainable UI components
  • Experience with testing and continuous integration/delivery
  • Examples of previously published apps

Responsibilities For Senior Android Developer

  • Working on our native Android application and helping them be the best in class
  • Focusing on delivery; ship code often and responding to customer feedback or issues quickly
  • Working within a cross-functional team to learn from and help guide the future direction of the Kotlin based Android app
  • Debugging, bug fixing, profiling and improving application performance
  • Continuously improving (build) tools and developer experience; automating repetitive tasks, simplifying existing processes and documenting APIs and behaviour
  • Writing clean, well-documented, testable, maintainable code

Requirements For Senior Android Developer

Kotlin
  • Proficient with Kotlin, common Android Frameworks and using reactive patterns
  • Strong understanding of mobile databases
  • Detailed knowledge of architectural patterns and how to apply them
  • Skilled in writing responsive, accessible, and maintainable UI components
  • Experience with unit and integration testing, continuous integration and delivery
  • Examples of published apps you've worked on before
