Bridge, operating as Stripe's fintech innovation hub, is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to spearhead their security initiatives. This role presents a unique opportunity to architect and implement a security program from scratch while leveraging Stripe's established security infrastructure.
As the Lead Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and executing Bridge's security roadmap, focusing on protecting their stablecoin-powered cross-border payments network. You'll work at the intersection of traditional fintech and blockchain technology, implementing crucial security measures while maintaining the agility of a startup.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of security engineering experience, preferably with startup exposure, and can balance rigorous security practices with the need for rapid development. You'll be tasked with everything from threat modeling and system hardening to establishing security monitoring and access controls. While deep crypto knowledge isn't required, you should be enthusiastic about the potential of stablecoins in global financial infrastructure.

Responsibilities For Lead Security Engineer
- Design, own, and implement Bridge's security roadmap from first principles to production
- Identify and tackle Bridge's most important security risks quickly and pragmatically
- Integrate with Stripe's infrastructure where it makes sense, and find custom solutions where it doesn't
- Lead threat modeling and hardening efforts for Bridge's money movement systems
- Build key security capabilities (monitoring, secrets management, incident response, access controls, CI/CD hardening, etc)
- Reinforce engineering best practices around secure development and infrastructure
- Ensure Bridge meets compliance and audit expectations as we scale to regulated markets
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and Stripe's security org
Requirements For Lead Security Engineer
- 8+ years of experience in Security engineering
- Experience building security practices from the ground up in fast-paced startup environments
- Comfortable writing and debugging backend application code
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and ruthlessly prioritize
- Balance security rigor with speed in fast-moving environments
- Clear communication across technical and non-technical partners
- Experience building or scaling security programs
- Interest in crypto and stablecoins
