Senior Software Engineer

Broadcom, a global technology leader in semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their VMware Cloud Foundation Division. This role is based in their Palo Alto campus and offers a competitive salary range of $119,000 - $190,000.

The position involves working with critical customer-facing services within the VMware Cloud Foundation Division, which enables organizations worldwide to run their business-critical and modern applications securely and efficiently. The role requires a strong background in Java development, with expertise in frameworks like Spring and Hibernate, plus experience with various databases including MySQL and MongoDB.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading the design and development of Java-based applications, including backend logic, APIs, and database interactions. The role involves significant collaboration with product development, program management, and release management teams. You'll also provide mentorship to junior developers while ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of services.

The ideal candidate should have 8 years of experience (with BS) or equivalent with advanced degrees, bringing strong technical expertise in cloud and on-premises services, web-based applications, and API development. Knowledge of additional technologies like Python and Golang is valued, as is experience with security tools such as BlackDuck, Qualys, and Prisma.
