Staff Engineer

Broadcom is seeking a Staff Engineer for ASIC/Layout Design. The role involves overseeing definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development. Key responsibilities include determining architecture design, logic design, and system simulation, defining module interfaces/formats for simulation, and contributing to multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits layout. The ideal candidate will evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. They will analyze equipment, conduct experimental tests, and may review vendor capabilities.

This position requires wide-ranging experience, using professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues creatively and effectively. The Staff Engineer will work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors. They will exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results, and network with key contacts outside their area of expertise.

The role may involve determining methods and procedures on new assignments and coordinating activities of other personnel as a Team Lead. Typically, this position requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience, and post-graduate coursework may be desirable.
