Description For Customer Engineer

Browserbase, a cutting-edge web automation platform, is seeking a Customer Engineer to join their team in San Francisco. This role is pivotal in supporting technically sophisticated customers and ensuring their success with Browserbase's platform. As a Customer Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of customer interaction, working closely with developers to implement Browserbase, debug complex distributed systems, and represent customer needs within the product development process.

Your responsibilities will span from providing expert technical support and helping customers scale their automation systems to contributing to product development and building internal tools. You'll be deeply involved in code-level debugging, architectural guidance, and documenting best practices to enhance our knowledge base.

The ideal candidate will bring strong software development experience, particularly in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, coupled with a deep understanding of web technologies and browser automation. Responsibilities For Customer Engineer

  • Provide expert technical support to customers implementing Browserbase, including code-level debugging and architectural guidance
  • Help customers scale their browser automation systems from proof-of-concept to thousands of instances
  • Build and maintain internal tools to streamline support processes and improve product functionality
  • Contribute to product development through feature requests and direct code contributions when appropriate
  • Document common issues, solutions, and best practices to build our knowledge base
  • Work directly with customers' code to diagnose and resolve integration issues
  • Advise customers on distributed systems architecture and best practices
  • Identify patterns in customer needs to inform product roadmap
  • Build relationships with technical stakeholders at customer organizations
  • Automate common support workflows to improve efficiency

Requirements For Customer Engineer

  • Strong software development experience, particularly in languages commonly used with Browserbase (Python and Javascript/Typescript)
  • Experience building or operating distributed systems at scale
