Lead Data Engineer

Byterat is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join their mission of revolutionizing battery science through modern data solutions. As a well-funded YC-backed startup with customers across three continents, we're building the core data platform that leading companies like Panasonic and Tesla use for battery innovation.

The role offers a unique opportunity to tackle significant technical challenges in the rapidly growing battery industry, where $73B was invested in US battery plants in 2022 alone. You'll be joining a team of accomplished engineers and physicists from prestigious institutions, working on processing terabytes of data yearly through secure, scalable pipelines.

As Lead Data Engineer, you'll take full ownership of our data infrastructure, from building and maintaining robust pipelines to managing cloud infrastructure and implementing advanced features like built-in modeling and anomaly detection. The position offers potential growth into a Head of Data Engineering role for the right candidate.

We're looking for someone who has proven experience with data pipelines, demonstrates extreme ownership mentality, and excels in team collaboration. You'll work with modern technologies including Postgres, ElasticSearch, Python ETL, NodeJS/NextJS GraphQL, and React TypeScript, all hosted on AWS with Kubernetes.
