Description For Sensor Software Engineer

CAE USA's Defense & Security division is seeking a Sensor Software Engineer to join their team in Arlington, TX. This role focuses on designing, developing, and integrating real-time aerospace and aircraft systems simulations for military training devices, with a specific emphasis on Targeting Pods and Electronic Warfare solutions.

The position offers an opportunity to work on meaningful projects that directly support U.S. Armed Forces and international partners. As part of the Passive Sensors team, you'll be involved in full life cycle software engineering, creating sophisticated training systems that enhance military readiness and capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience, strong C++ programming skills, and experience with Linux development. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities For Sensor Software Engineer

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models
  • Apply software engineering principles to complete assigned tasks within budget and schedule
  • Work with senior engineers to understand tasking
  • Maintain, upgrade, and improve existing Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models
  • Analyze legacy Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models
  • Contribute to development and deployment of training systems
  • Interface with platform simulation applications
  • Perform product-level integration and troubleshooting

Requirements For Sensor Software Engineer

Linux
  • DoD Secret Clearance is required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming techniques and design patterns
  • Experience with developing software for Linux
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • U.S. citizenship required
