Description For Associate Linux Support Engineer

Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, is seeking an Associate Linux Support Engineer to join their globally distributed team. Responsibilities For Associate Linux Support Engineer

  • Provide technical support for employees from remote home office
  • Take ownership of new cases via telephone, email and web
  • Act as internal customer advocate
  • Handle support cases according to SLA
  • Contribute to knowledge base articles
  • Draft technical notices for internal and external communication
  • Maintain regular communication with team
  • Participate in regular weekend working rotation

Requirements For Associate Linux Support Engineer

Linux
  • Exceptional academic track record
  • Undergraduate degree in technical subject (Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Linux server administration
  • Programming fundamentals in any language
  • Networking knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year
  • Experience with virtualization/cloud computing concepts
