Description For Cloud Support Associate Engineer

Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, is seeking a Cloud Support Associate Engineer to join their global team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for hands-on engineers passionate about Linux and cloud technologies to work with industry experts. You'll be responsible for providing top-tier technical support for the full cloud technical stack, solving complex issues ranging from Cloud environment problems to Linux kernel crashes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Remote work, providing technical support for employees and customers
  • Managing support cases from qualification to resolution
  • Maintaining SLAs and ensuring high customer satisfaction
  • Contributing to and maintaining knowledge base articles
  • Prioritizing tasks and continuous learning as products evolve
  • Participating in weekend working rotations

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting and server administration
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing concepts
  • Programming fundamentals in various languages
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure

Responsibilities For Cloud Support Associate Engineer

  • Provide technical support for employees and customers remotely
  • Take ownership of new cases via telephone, email, and web
  • Handle support cases according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Contribute to and maintain knowledge base articles
  • Draft and distribute technical notices for internal and external communication
  • Prioritize work to accomplish important and urgent tasks
  • Continuously learn about evolving products and services
  • Maintain regular communication with the team
  • Identify opportunities to improve service
  • Participate in regular weekend working rotation

  • Programming fundamentals in any language (bash, Perl, Ruby, Javascript, C or C++, Go)
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
