Description For Ubuntu Pro Sales Engineer

Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, is seeking an Ubuntu Pro Sales Engineer to drive adoption of Ubuntu Pro in the enterprise market. This role combines technical expertise with business acumen, requiring a deep understanding of Linux, open source applications, and cloud computing concepts. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, practical knowledge of Linux and virtualization, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collecting customer business requirements and advising on Ubuntu and open source applications
  • Identifying customer challenges and articulating Ubuntu Pro solutions
  • Delivering presentations and demonstrations to clients
  • Collaborating with product teams and sales teams
  • Global travel for events and customer meetings

Responsibilities For Ubuntu Pro Sales Engineer

  • Collect customer business requirements and advise on Ubuntu and open source applications
  • Identify customer challenges and articulate Ubuntu Pro solutions
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrations to clients
  • Liaise with product teams to influence roadmap
  • Work collaboratively with sales team to reach targets
  • Global travel up to 25% for events and 25% for customer meetings

Requirements For Ubuntu Pro Sales Engineer

Linux
Python
  • Exceptional academic track record
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject
  • Practical knowledge of Linux, virtualisation, containers and networking
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts & leaders
  • Intermediate level Python programming skills
  • Professional written and spoken English
  • Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Ability to travel internationally
