Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience

Checkr, a leading provider of background check technology serving over 100,000 customers including major companies like DoorDash, Coinbase, and Lyft, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Developer Experience team within Platform Engineering. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape how services are built and maintained across the organization.

The position requires 5+ years of backend development experience, with a focus on Ruby, Golang, or JavaScript/TypeScript. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong collaboration and mentorship skills. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining core software tools, implementing service building best practices, and driving engineering excellence across the organization.

Working in a hybrid environment from either Denver, CO or San Francisco, CA (2-3 days in office), you'll enjoy competitive compensation ranging from $155,000 to $215,000 depending on location, plus equity.
