The Subsea Geospatial Solutions Developer position at Chevron is a senior technical role within the Subsea, Civil, and Marine Engineering team at the Chevron ENGINE Center. This role combines expertise in geographical information systems (GIS), data management, and programming to develop and maintain enterprise-level geospatial solutions. The position requires extensive experience in handling land and hydrographic datasets, developing spatial analysis tools, and implementing AI-driven geospatial solutions.

The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies including ESRI ArcGIS, cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure), and various programming languages. Key responsibilities span from database development and mapping to implementing AI-driven spatial analysis tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new functionality for existing enterprise online geospatial data services and managing complex geospatial databases.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced GIS professional looking to work with a global energy leader. The position offers exposure to diverse projects across Chevron's worldwide operations, from offshore subsea operations to onshore manufacturing facilities. Working hours are flexible to support global operations, with options for 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm schedules. Responsibilities For Geospatial Solutions Developer

  • Develop new ESRI ArcGIS databases for major capital projects
  • Create digital maps using diverse geospatial data sources
  • Apply visualization & analysis techniques to interpret remote sensing data
  • Develop and implement AI techniques for spatial data extraction and analysis
  • Drive development of new tools within the geospatial portal
  • Organize and manage ArcGIS databases on Microsoft Azure
  • Optimize web-service level performance
  • Establish working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with industry peers on developing standards and best practices

Requirements For Geospatial Solutions Developer

Python
JavaScript
  • University Undergraduate and Masters degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, or related fields
  • Certified member of a relevant globally recognized professional body
  • Working knowledge of industry best practices & standards for web-based GIS databases
  • High level of competence in ESRI ArcGIS Pro, Maps SDK, Web AppBuilder, & Experience Builder
  • Experience in scripting (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell)
  • 10-15 years of oil and gas industry experience related to GIS and web-based mapping systems
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud Skills Training certification (preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, Miro, Slack (preferred)
  • Experience applying agile project management principles (preferred)
