Description For IT Operations - Software Engineer

Chevron, one of the world's leading integrated energy companies, is seeking a Software Engineer for their Business Support Center (BASSC) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This role is part of a successful multifunction service center with over 1500 employees delivering business services and solutions globally.

The position combines software engineering with IT operations, requiring expertise in application development, system integration, and technical support. You'll be responsible for ensuring application availability, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing new features that enhance functionality. The role involves working with various technologies including Azure, C#, SQL, and Ansible, while also requiring knowledge of cloud computing and site reliability engineering.

As a Software Engineer at Chevron, you'll be part of a team that supports critical enterprise reporting and data integration. Your responsibilities will range from technical implementation to end-user training, requiring both strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities. The role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from system maintenance to new feature development, in a global energy company setting.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with experience in application engineering and system integration. Knowledge of IT architecture best practices, cybersecurity, and process automation is highly valued. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Buenos Aires's Puerto Madero district. Please note that expatriate assignments will not be considered, and Chevron cannot sponsor employment Visas for this position.

Responsibilities For IT Operations - Software Engineer

  • Provide technical support for applications, ensuring availability, performance, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integration, report generation, and system maintenance
  • Collaborate with IT teams to understand business requirements and implement solutions
  • Support acquisitions and divestment activities
  • Support internal and external auditing requirements
  • Perform regular system maintenance tasks including updates, patches, and configuration changes
