Description For Lead Machine Learning Engineer

Chevron is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join their team in Bangalore, India. This senior-level position requires 10-15 years of relevant experience and focuses on designing and developing AI/ML models that drive business value. The role combines technical expertise in machine learning, software engineering, and cloud technologies with leadership responsibilities including mentoring junior team members.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for transforming data science prototypes into production-ready solutions, orchestrating infrastructure for ML workloads, and implementing complex algorithms at enterprise scale. They will work with Azure cloud services, MLOps practices, and modern container technologies while collaborating across multiple teams including data scientists, engineers, and solution architects.

Key technical requirements include strong Python programming skills, experience with ML frameworks, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (particularly Azure). The role demands expertise in mathematics, statistics, and algorithms, along with practical experience in model lifecycle management and MLOps.

Responsibilities For Lead Machine Learning Engineer

  • Transform data science prototypes into production-scale solutions
  • Orchestrate and configure infrastructure for ML workloads
  • Create advanced AI/ML models combining mathematics, statistics, and computer science
  • Collaborate with AI Technical Manager and GCC Petro-technical professionals

Requirements For Lead Machine Learning Engineer

  • 10-15 years of experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Object Oriented Design/Functional Programming in Python
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as MLflow
  • Experience with containers and container management (docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience developing cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure Services
  • Working knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and algorithms
  • Experience with model lifecycle management and automation
  • Knowledge of enterprise SaaS complexities
  • Experience implementing ML models on unstructured data
