Associate Director, Software Engineering

Chewy, the leading online pet retailer in the US, is seeking an Associate Director/Software Development Manager for their Customer Care Technology team in Bellevue. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the development of tools and applications that power Chewy's award-winning customer service experience.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of software engineers while maintaining hands-on involvement in architecture and development. You'll be working with critical 3rd party applications including Oracle Service Cloud, Salesforce, and various internal tools, making technical decisions that directly impact Chewy's customer care capabilities.

As an Associate Director, you'll wear multiple hats - from technical leader to people manager. Your responsibilities include recruiting top talent, mentoring engineers, driving architectural decisions, and collaborating with product partners to prioritize and execute on the technical roadmap. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation with 5-10 years of software development experience, complemented by 5+ years of engineering management experience. You should be comfortable working with enterprise platforms like Oracle Service Cloud and Salesforce, while also having broad knowledge of modern technology stacks including both static and dynamic programming languages.
