Chewy is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer III to join their FC Science team. The role involves building a high-fidelity Digital Twin using the Nvidia Omniverse platform to simulate and optimize Chewy's Fulfillment Network. The ideal candidate will be integral to every stage of model development, from idea inception to deployment, and will collaborate with computer vision and robotics engineers to build innovative ML models. Key Responsibilities:
- Apply AI/ML methods to design, test, and scale effective frameworks, systems, and models
- Research, implement, and test machine learning algorithms to improve data quality and reliability
- Develop ML applications according to requirements
- Collaborate with Data/Research Scientists, Robotics/Software Engineers, and Product Managers
- Formalize assumptions about model behavior and address outliers
- Communicate research findings and technical insights to various stakeholders
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying optimization, predictive, and machine learning models
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science)
- Experience in MLOps best practices and Software Engineering best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience coding and analyzing data using Python, SQL, or R
- Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with Amazon Web Services tools like SageMaker
- Experience translating ambiguous customer requirements into clear problem definitions
- Experience with Robotics or Computer Vision systems
