Cisco Security is passionate about SIG and SASE world and our product portfolio includes the cloud delivers firewall, Web proxy, Zero Trust Proxy, NaaS integrations, and inspection services as highly available distributed systems using cloud engineering practices.
As an Engineering Manager on the Security Innovations team, you will lead the development of our next generation Data Plane for Cisco's Hypershield solution. Your team will deliver network firewalling solutions to Cisco switches and appliances with data processing units (DPUs) and network processing units (NPUs). You will work closely with our Chief Architect, Product Management and Control Plane teams, defining the roadmap to meet market and customer expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of the day-to-day activities of your team, as they design, develop and test features in feature-driven sprints.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment with the key stakeholders on architecture, schedules and deliverables
- Deliver continuous feedback and performance review of engineers, with input from vertical leads and senior leadership
- Track progress on projects, help engineers grow their project management skills

Responsibilities For Engineering Manager (Data Plane)--Security Innovations Team
- Lead the development of next generation Data Plane for Cisco's Hypershield solution
- Manage day-to-day activities of the team in designing, developing, and testing features
- Ensure cross-functional alignment with key stakeholders
- Deliver continuous feedback and performance reviews of engineers
- Track progress on projects and help engineers grow their project management skills
- Work closely with Chief Architect, Product Management, and Control Plane teams
- Define roadmap to meet market and customer expectations
Requirements For Engineering Manager (Data Plane)--Security Innovations Team
- BA/BS Degree and 7+ years of experience in software development
- 3+ years of experience in team management
- 3+ years in cloud computing and network security
- Foundations in networking including exposure to network stacks, packet processing, or network acceleration technologies
- Prior experience managing engineering team resources and activities
- Experience building strong engineering teams
- Ability to lead and mentor engineers globally
- Experience collaborating with senior engineers, product management, and senior management
