Description For Test Development Engineer

Cisco's Cloud Networking Product Operations Test Team is seeking a Test Development Engineer to join their Supply Chain Organization. This role focuses on supporting new product introductions for data center switches, specifically the Nexus series. The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge data center and cloud switch technology, known for high performance, low latency, and outstanding power efficiency.

The role involves collaboration with various teams including HW/SW/Diag Engineers, Product Operations, Central team, Manufacturing Operations, and Contract Manufacturers. You'll be responsible for the entire product lifecycle from New Product Introduction (NPI) to End of Life (EOL). Key responsibilities include developing test automation scripts, implementing test strategies, and ensuring product quality through comprehensive testing procedures.

Responsibilities For Test Development Engineer

  • End-to-end test development of data center switching products
  • Develop test automation script using Python
  • Support EMS partners and product-related testing issues
  • Collaborate with product team to implement test strategies, plans, and processes
  • Generate product-specific test plans and drive test coverage based on requirements
  • Design, build, and deploy test platforms for global manufacturing partners
  • Analyze and root cause manufacturing yield issues and field escapes
  • Drive test-related improvement and optimization
  • Specify, develop, and/or procure test equipment and fixtures
  • Define debug processes for test engineers in manufacturing sites

Requirements For Test Development Engineer

Python
Linux
  • BSEE or BSCE degree
  • 5+ years of test engineering experience
  • Strong Python programming knowledge
  • Familiar with version control and CI tools (Github and Jenkins)
  • Manufacturing and hardware test experience
  • English language proficiency
  • Understanding of Design for Test (DFT) techniques
  • Ability to debug, analyze, and root cause manufacturing yield issues
