Responsibilities For Principal SecOps Engineer
- Lead the SecOps team and provide technical guidance to engineers
- Develop and drive security operations strategy, policies, and best practices
- Ensure security integration throughout development lifecycle
- Oversee AWS infrastructure, services, and applications security
- Design and implement cloud security architectures
- Conduct security assessments and audits
- Lead security incident response efforts
- Develop incident response playbooks
- Build and maintain automated security monitoring systems
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR)
- Mentor junior engineers
- Stay current with security threats and trends
Requirements For Principal SecOps Engineer
- 8+ years of experience in security operations, with 3+ years in leadership
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud security
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards
- Hands-on experience with security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners)
- Expertise in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Terraform)
- Deep understanding of security best practices
- Proven ability to work under pressure
