Software Engineer, Backend (Institutional - Financing)

Coinbase is seeking a Backend Software Engineer for their Institutional Financing Engineering team, focusing on building and maintaining systems that manage billions of dollars in loans across various products including Portfolio Margin, Trade Finance, Agency Lending, and Bilateral Lending. This role is crucial for the Prime Brokerage business, enabling customers to use leverage on trading positions and generate yield on long holdings.

The position involves designing and implementing new financing products, creating reporting tools and APIs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver quarterly objectives. You'll be working on high-stakes systems that directly impact the company's recurring revenue streams and trading activity.

The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of software engineering experience, with expertise in building and scaling production services. Experience with technologies like Golang, Postgres, Kafka, Protobuf, and React is advantageous, as is experience with financial or high-reliability systems.
