Covestro, a world-leading supplier of high-tech polymer materials with 18,000 employees globally, is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join their Research & Development team. This role represents an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative digital solutions in a scientific environment.

The position focuses on improving R&D processes through the development of innovative software applications, digital workflows, and automation solutions. As a Full Stack Developer, you'll work with Angular, Spring-Boot, and PostgreSQL to create solutions that support internal business entities, service units, production, and supply chain operations.

This is an interdisciplinary role that combines software development expertise with scientific knowledge. You'll be working at the intersection of technology and chemistry, developing solutions that drive scientific discovery through digital means. Responsibilities For Full Stack Developer - Research & Development

  • Design, implement, document, and maintain complex software applications and digital workflows
  • Develop software using professional processes including code repository maintenance and DevOps
  • Provide guidance to Covestro's global internal software development community
  • Identify and analyze functional and non-functional requirements
  • Engage with end-users and product owners for requirements gathering
  • Manage multiple projects independently
  • Implement cloud computing architecture, IT security and data protection standards

Requirements For Full Stack Developer - Research & Development

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, mathematics, statistics, data science with 4 years software development experience OR Master's degree with 2 years experience
  • Experience in dealing with technical data from R&D, quality assurance, and production
  • Experience with AWS, cloud formation, lambda functions, and Docker
  • Good interdisciplinary background in engineering, statistics, chemistry, and mathematics
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Experience working in an international company environment
