Description For Project Developer - Solar - NJ

CS Energy is seeking a solar and energy storage project developer with an entrepreneurial spirit to help grow their solar and energy storage project development portfolio within various markets in the US. This position is part of a small, collaborative and entrepreneurial team, and will be exposed to all aspects of the project development life cycle.

The ideal candidate should be flexible, capable of working in a dynamic team, smart, analytical, and a personable self-starter who can independently complete tasks on schedule. They should be comfortable speaking in public forums and able to tailor their communication style to different audiences.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Uncovering new opportunities and driving forward existing projects
  • Generating new opportunities through networking, market research, and GIS site identification
  • Interfacing with landowners, PPA counterparties, government officials, and other stakeholders
  • Managing permitting and interconnection processes
  • Developing new relationships with project partners
  • Conducting analysis, producing reports, and presenting information to management
  • Analyzing and applying statutory incentives, rules, and standards
  • Performing industry research and competitive analysis
  • Managing project development budgets, schedules, and financial models

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of work experience (solar development or financing experience is a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of land development, electric utility industry, solar and energy storage technology, and/or energy markets
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Understanding of land development, electric utility industry, solar and energy storage technology, and/or energy markets
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Self-directed, motivated, and flexible self-starter
  • Financial acumen and understanding of economic value proposition analysis
  • Working knowledge of project-based financial models
