Databricks is seeking a Sr. Developer Advocate for MLflow to join their team. As a Developer Advocate, you'll play a crucial role in sharing expertise in MLOps and LLMOps, acting as a bridge between the engineering teams and the external developer community of data engineers building their careers on technologies like Databricks and MLflow.
In this role, you'll be responsible for sharing knowledge about best practices for operationalizing AI and machine learning through various channels, including talks, panels, meetups, blogging, writing books, developing courseware, answering forum questions, and meeting one-on-one with influential data engineers and data scientists in the Databricks community. You'll work closely with both the community and the MLflow product team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating MLflow's capabilities in streamlining ML/LLM lifecycles
- Generating awareness for MLflow through speaking engagements at industry events
- Expanding MLflow meetups and user groups to attract thousands of participants
- Creating engaging content and experiences to foster enthusiasm for MLflow
- Enabling data engineers to build MLOps and LLMOps infrastructure with MLflow
- Developing high-quality educational resources such as videos, tutorials, and blog posts
- Advocating for the MLflow community's needs within Databricks
- Providing support across various platforms to stay connected with user feedback
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience as a software developer with knowledge of data engineering problems
- Expertise in Python, SQL, and machine learning frameworks
- Leadership experience in MLflow communities
- A track record of contributing to open source communities
- Experience managing and engaging with developer communities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics
- Empathy and understanding of developer personas

- Expand MLflow meetups and user groups to attract tens of thousands of participants
- Foster enthusiasm for MLflow by creating engaging experiences and content
- Enable data engineers to build MLOps and LLMOps infrastructure with MLflow
- Create high-quality educational resources such as videos, sample notebooks, tutorials, and blog posts
- Advocate for the needs and desires of the MLflow community within Databricks
- Provide robust support for users across platforms like Slack, StackOverflow, and online communities
Requirements For Sr. Developer Advocate, MLflow
- 5+ years of experience as a software developer and subject matter knowledge of solving data engineering problems at all scales
- Experience with Python and SQL, machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as scikit-learn and PyTorch, and open source and SaaS AI models
- Leadership in MLflow communities
- Experience working with and contributing to open source communities
- Experience managing, operationalizing, and engaging with developer communities, running user groups, or holding global meetups
- Solid communicator with experience writing about, teaching, and speaking about complex technical topics
- Empathy and understanding of developer personas
