Staff Software Engineer - IAM

At Databricks, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Trust & Safety team, focusing on Identity and Access Management (IAM) security engineering. This role is crucial in building the most trusted data analytics and ML platform in the world.

The position requires a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems and 7+ years specifically in Data Security. You'll be responsible for identifying and addressing security gaps in our infrastructure and services, leading security engineering initiatives, and representing Databricks at industry conferences.

As a Staff Engineer, you'll work on critical security components including authentication, identity management, access control, and key management systems. You'll need expertise in areas such as Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, and Privacy.

The role combines technical leadership with cross-functional collaboration, requiring strong communication skills to explain complex security concepts to senior leaders. You'll be instrumental in attracting top talent and making our platform safer for customers.

Requirements include an MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields, proven experience in building high-availability systems at scale, and a track record of leadership across organizational lines.
