Datadog is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Software Delivery team in a hands-on leadership role that will shape the future of developer tools and experiences. Responsibilities For Staff Software Engineer - Software Delivery
- Design and own core systems within the Software Delivery suite, such as build and deployment data ingestion, visibility dashboards, and failure diagnostics
- Partner with Datadog for Developers teams to extend Datadog into SCMs, IDEs, and local development tools
- Lead the technical strategy for building and evolving features like live debugging, test visibility, and deployment tracking
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure the tools we build are deeply useful, fast, and a joy to use
- Mentor engineers across teams by sharing deep technical insights, guiding architecture discussions, and driving adoption of best practices
Requirements For Staff Software Engineer - Software Delivery
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of engineering experience designing and delivering complex, high-scale systems
- 4+ years of technical leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving large initiatives across multiple teams
- Deep understanding of software delivery pipelines, developer workflows, and developer experience challenges
- Some experience integrating with SCMs like GitHub or GitLab, and/or building plugins or extensions for popular IDEs
