Description For Software Engineer, Scheduling

Default is revolutionizing go-to-market teams with their AI-powered operating system, backed by prestigious investors like Craft Ventures, 8VC, and BoxGroup. They're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Scheduling team, a critical component of their platform that handles everything from meeting bookings to lead assignments.

The role focuses on building and scaling Default's sophisticated real-time lead-to-rep scheduler, which makes decisions based on routing logic, enrichment, availability, and various other factors. This isn't just about creating booking links - it's about developing a complex scheduling engine that can handle thousands to millions of actions per day.

As a Senior Engineer, you'll work directly with the CTO and product team, owning core scheduling features across the full stack. The position requires expertise in building high-throughput systems, strong full-stack capabilities, and an understanding of complex scheduling logic including time zones. The tech stack includes TypeScript, React, Node, Postgres, and Redis.

The position offers competitive compensation ($160,000–$200,000 base + equity) and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, flexible PTO, and relocation support. Based in Default's NYC headquarters in the Flatiron district, you'll join an elite team working on challenging problems at the intersection of engineering, product design, AI, and user behavior.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of go-to-market operations, working with a team that values both quality and speed. The role is perfect for someone who enjoys turning complex data into clean UX, can work independently across the full stack, and has strong opinions about AI's role in scheduling and automation. You'll be contributing to a product that helps companies scale from zero to IPO, making a significant impact on the future of business growth automation.
