As a Software Engineer II in the VR Prototyping team, you'll be instrumental in advancing R&D efforts within a dynamic environment.

The role focuses on rapid iteration of digital character-focused demos and prototypes, working as an "integrator" inside real-time engines like Unreal. You'll collaborate closely with Art Directors and cross-functional teams to bring creative visions to life while ensuring optimal technical implementation.

This position is perfect for candidates with a strong background in game development and real-time graphics, particularly those with experience in research or advanced development environments. The role requires expertise in C++, Unreal Engine, Unity3D, and a solid understanding of 3D graphics fundamentals.

The company offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $125,000 to $160,000 plus equity, comprehensive health benefits, and a flexible working environment. The position can be performed remotely or from the Bay Area office, providing flexibility in work location.

  • Work with teams to evaluate and define best 3D real-time approaches and optimization practices
  • Participate in ideation sessions with creative and technical peers
  • Assist in conception and development of demo functionality
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless technology integration
  • Integrate high fidelity character models

Requirements For Software Engineer II, VR Prototyping

  • BSc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
  • Professional experience in C++ working on game or VR/AR experience
  • 4+ years of experience in real-time graphics development
  • 4+ years of experience with Unreal Engine and Unity3D
  • 3+ years of experience in rapid prototyping
  • Basic understanding of linear algebra and 3D graphics fundamentals
  • Familiarity with Houdini and/or Maya
  • Working familiarity with Agile/Scrum development process
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
