Description For Controls Engineer

We create happiness." That's our motto at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, and it permeates everything we do. This role is a unique opportunity to join the Disneyland Resort team as a Controls Engineer, focusing on field engineering support and show control systems.

The position is a 30-month, entirely onsite Project Hire role based in Anaheim, CA, reporting to the Senior Manager of Sustaining Engineering. You'll be responsible for:

  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating technical aspects of show control systems, animation systems, and AV systems
  • Ensuring electrical compliance with various codes (IEEE, NFPA, ASTM, DOSH, NEC/CEC)
  • System troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Preparing engineering proposals and specifications
  • Tracking project status and attraction downtime trends
  • Monitoring show control system performance
  • Conducting risk analysis
  • Working with cutting-edge control technologies

Required Technical Skills:

  • 2+ years experience in amusement park industry or related industrial environment
  • Knowledge of electronic control systems and signal processing
  • Experience with PLCs (Beckhoff, Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi)
  • Understanding of CCTV hardware and software programming
  • Familiarity with animation hardware (pneumatic, hydraulic, electric)
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards
  • Strong communication skills

Requirements For Controls Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years experience in amusement park industry or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of electronic control systems and signal processing
  • Experience with various PLC platforms (Beckhoff, Rockwell, Allen Bradley, etc.)
  • Understanding of CCTV hardware and software programming
  • Knowledge of National and California Electrical Code
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
