Description For Lead Software Engineer - Back End

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their Backend team in Seattle. This role is crucial in building and advancing the technological foundation for Disney's media business globally, particularly focusing on the User State and Familiar Personalization team that serves both Hulu and Disney Plus.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects that affect millions of users worldwide through platforms like Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, and ABC. As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing reliable, high-throughput services and pipelines for gathering user information and delivering personalized experiences.

The role requires strong technical expertise in backend development, particularly with JVM services and caching technologies. You'll be expected to drive projects end-to-end, from initial design to production deployment, while mentoring team members and setting technical standards. The position demands both technical excellence and leadership skills, as you'll be responsible for code quality, architectural decisions, and team guidance.
