Description For Lead Software Engineer

Disney Experiences (DX) is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their Disney Signature Experience organization. This role will be instrumental in leading the development and implementation of custom and commercial software projects to enable an eCommerce experience powered by real-time, live inventory on Adventures by Disney and National Geographic Expeditions websites.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating the translation of functional business requirements into technical specifications and working closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Project Managers to deliver best-in-class solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale enterprise solutions that directly impact guest experiences across Disney's premier vacation brands.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for architecting and implementing sophisticated scalable projects, mentoring team members, and driving technical excellence. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Java, Spring Boot, React, and cloud technologies while ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

The role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, requiring both deep technical expertise and strong collaborative skills. You'll be part of the team that "Powers the Magic" at Disney Experiences, creating world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company's premier vacation brands including Disney's Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, and Disney Vacation Club.

Responsibilities For Lead Software Engineer

  • Own the analysis, design, program, debugging, and modifications of software improvements
  • Lead projects for commercial and end-user applications
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Managers, and Project Managers
  • Develop and drive strategic technology roadmap
  • Mentor team members on software development best practices
  • Review code to ensure quality of delivered products
  • Define coding patterns and practices

  • Expertise with relational databases
  • Experience with Microservices
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
