The Media Experience Performance Engineer II role on the Distribution team focuses on ensuring optimal performance across Disney's streaming services.

You'll be working at the intersection of technology and innovation within Disney Entertainment and ESPN Technology (DE&ET). The position involves managing CDN operations, monitoring performance, and implementing solutions that enhance content delivery across Disney's streaming platforms.

Responsibilities For Media Performance Engineer II, Distribution

  • Streamlining CDN operational workflows
  • Managing and monitoring CDN performance and availability
  • Implementing and configuring CDN solutions
  • Provide real-time visibility into active and historic CDN traffic
  • Working closely with other IT professionals to design and deploy CDN solutions

Requirements For Media Performance Engineer II, Distribution

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree, and/or equivalent work experience
  • CDN experience and their relation to network operations, transit, and peering
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Live Video Streaming Systems
  • Understanding of the live and VOD content delivery life cycle
  • Experience in a production environment, preferably in high-availability, large-scale setup on AWS
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Basic quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and decision-making skills
  • Exposure to interfacing with OTT and mobile devices
  • Awareness of network-level tools
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools
  • Basic proficiency in data structures (SQL)
  • Basic knowledge of video streaming quality metrics
