Description For Network Engineer

Disney Experiences (DX) is seeking a Network Engineer to join their dynamic team that powers the magic across Disney's premier vacation brands. This role is part of the Disney Cruise Line organization within Technology & Digital, working closely with Enterprise Technology and WDI.

The Network Engineer will be responsible for the critical infrastructure that keeps Disney Cruise Line connected, including ships at sea, private islands, home ports, and technology labs. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and operational excellence, managing complex networking systems while ensuring seamless connectivity across diverse environments.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of enterprise-level experience and strong proficiency in network security principles. You'll be hands-on with datacenter and distribution LAN switches, WAN routers, wireless controllers, firewalls, and load balancers. The role demands someone who can troubleshoot effectively, implement automation to improve efficiency, and stay current with emerging technologies.

  • Operate datacenter and distribution LAN switches, WAN routers, Wireless Controllers/Access Points, Firewalls
  • Apply team standards for technical platforms and security parameters
  • Execute and adapt automation processes to reduce workload
  • Participate in team objectives for capital and expense project initiatives
  • Provide technical assistance to partner teams
  • 30-40% travel to provide support to DCL shipyards, drydocks, and islands

Requirements For Network Engineer

Linux
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience in an enterprise level organization
  • Experience with day to day hands on operation of standard networking hardware
  • Understanding of network security principles and ISE appliances
  • Proficient in troubleshooting network issues
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment
