As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be part of a diverse and talented organization focused on building and maintaining complex web applications for ESPN. You will be working with modern server-side and web technologies such as JavaScript, Node and React to deliver scalable and elegant solutions for new product features and core site architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build components and modules used by millions of fans worldwide
- Connect UI components to live APIs
- Work with native teams on seamless webview integrations for ESPN Fantasy apps
- Lead code and architectural reviews
- Coach and mentor teammates
- Partner with other engineering teams to solve complex problems
- Architect web frameworks for shared solutions across platforms
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years relevant industry experience
- Mastery of frontend web development technologies and principles
- Extensive experience with JavaScript and JS Frameworks (React, NodeJS)
- Experience with task Automation (GitLab Pipelines, GitHub Actions, WebPack)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with iOS and Android development
- Understanding of AWS services
- HTML/CSS knowledge

- Santa Monica/Glendale, CA: $184,300 - $247,100
- Seattle, WA/New York, NY: $193,100 - $258,900
- San Francisco, CA: $201,900 - $270,700
