Description For Senior Controls Engineer

As a Sustaining Controls Engineer at Disneyland Resort, you'll have the opportunity to work on the Ride Control aspect of Registered Attractions. This is a 24-month project hire role based in Anaheim, CA, where you'll be hands-on designing, developing, editing, and troubleshooting PLC software code and hardware.

In this senior engineering position, you'll work with minimal oversight, managing tasks independently and mentoring early career Cast members. You'll be responsible for field engineering support, including control systems engineering services for ride, show, and other ride-related control systems. The role involves planning, organizing, and leading teams in troubleshooting, resolving problems, enhancing system operations, and improving system reliability.

The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, service provider work environments, machine learning, and safety. You'll be working in a highly dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities, providing technical direction, delivering troubleshooting resolution, and analyzing control system/software hazards.

Your responsibilities will include responding to Attraction downtimes, developing reliability improvement efforts, monitoring system performance, and ensuring compliance with various standards and codes. You'll need to understand ride system interfaces and how they relate to the overall operation of the Attraction, while staying current with the latest developments in ride control system technology.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $126,100 to $154,100 per year, along with comprehensive benefits including medical coverage, bonus potential, and long-term incentive units. Responsibilities For Senior Controls Engineer

  • Respond to Attraction downtimes supporting Engineering Services and Operations' urgent needs
  • Develop scope for attraction reliability improvement efforts
  • Monitor downtime trends and system performance
  • Troubleshoot PLC software and hardware on complex ride systems
  • Partner with other Engineering teams on design efforts
  • Perform ride system hazard analyses
  • Ensure compliance with standards and codes
  • Work during off-hours/3rd shift hours as needed

Requirements For Senior Controls Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor of Science from an ABET-accredited engineering program in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years Controls Systems experience in amusement park industry or industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Experience with electronic control systems and signal processing
  • Knowledge of PLCs including Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi
  • Understanding of National and California Electrical Code
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Object-oriented programming skills (C/C++)
  • Ladder logic programming experience
  • Knowledge of ANSI, ASTM, and IEEE standards
