Senior Manager, Software Engineering

As the Sr. Manager of Software Engineering on our Content Platforms team, you will be responsible for leading several teams of developers working across varying projects in helping build Disney's media supply chain. You will mentor and guide, as well as assist in the tactical execution at the ground level. You are expected to have a deep understanding of the technology we build, and the tools we use to do so. You will participate in code reviews and help with larger architectural decision making, while also managing the operations of your teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading software engineering for talent participations and residuals payment systems used globally
• Managing mid-level CapEx projects and OpEx teams, including budget planning and vendor contracts
• Being accountable for the performance and results of multiple software engineering teams across global locations
• Facilitating communication and collaboration between teams and other departments
• Analyzing complex technical challenges and staying informed of industry innovations
• Mentoring and growing the careers of managers and senior engineers
• Helping with software design, architecture review, and development plans
• Assisting with recruitment and hiring for your team

Required qualifications:

• Passion for leadership and relationship building across cross-functional teams
• Experience in delivering platform services in cloud environments using open-source technologies
• Ability to make decisions about technical best practices and team operational processes
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Good understanding of agile software development methodologies
• Experience building multiple concurrent projects of high technical complexity
• Minimum 10 years of experience building complex platform applications at scale
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• SAP system interfaces
