Description For Senior Mechanical Engineer

Walt Disney Imagineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This role is responsible for mechanical engineering including design, analysis, calculations, modeling and specifications for building HVAC systems and plumbing; compressible fluid and cryogenic systems and central energy installations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Becoming familiar with and editing mechanical/plumbing sections of WDI master specifications
  • Providing field investigations and generating condition reports for existing buildings
  • Designing HVAC and plumbing systems for new and renovation projects
  • Evaluating proposed systems using Life Cycle Cost Analysis
  • Managing consultants for HVAC and plumbing disciplines
  • Obtaining building department approvals when required
  • Answering consultant and construction bid period questions
  • Responding to and resolving field issues and questions
  • Reviewing submittals

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional registration in Mechanical Engineering
  • 6+ years of work experience in mechanical engineering
  • 2+ years managing a team of mechanical engineers and designers
  • Solid understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems, including compressed air
  • Familiarity with mechanical design and analysis computer programs
  • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD modeling software
  • Knowledge of Florida and Epcot codes
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC Building Management System

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in mechanical engineering
  • Active membership in ASHRAE and USGBC
  • 8+ years of work experience in mechanical engineering
