Disney Experiences (DX) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help "Power the Magic!" by creating world-class immersive digital experiences for Disney's premier vacation brands including Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club.
The role involves building and maintaining new applications to improve Guest and Cast experiences. You'll be working on designing and implementing reliable, high-throughput, low latency, scalable solutions while collaborating with engineers, product owners, and other partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing cloud native applications in AWS
- Writing well-documented code for sophisticated algorithms
- Conducting code reviews and maintaining high code quality standards
- Troubleshooting and monitoring production applications
- Working in a scrum team environment
- Contributing to architectural decisions and technical solutions
The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong expertise in Java and Spring Framework, and experience with cloud technologies and microservices architectures. Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer
- Design and implement reliable, high-throughput, low latency, scalable code
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other partners
- Conduct code review pull-requests
- Troubleshoot and fix problems in production environments
- Write unit and component tests
- Monitor and improve production run quality
- Work in a scrum team and provide daily updates
- Estimate effort for development tasks
Requirements For Senior Software Engineer
- 5+ years of software engineering, analysis and design with full software development lifecycle experience
- 5+ years with Internet technologies, microservices architectures
- 5+ years of developing cloud native applications, preferably in AWS
- Experience with Java, Spring Framework, SQL and NoSQL-based databases
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related equivalent experience
