Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform

On any given day at Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology, we're reimagining ways to create magical viewing experiences for the world's most beloved stories while also transforming Disney's media business for the future. The Product & Data Engineering team is responsible for end-to-end development for Disney's world-class consumer-facing products, including streaming platforms Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, and digital products & experiences across ESPN, Marvel, Disney Studios, NatGeo, and ABC News.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Compute team within the Data Platform, you'll be working on the Data Lake platform that powers the analytics, operations, and data science behind flagship streaming applications - Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+. You'll tackle challenges of how data is being used at Disney's world-class streaming services while pushing the boundaries using the latest technologies in AWS, Databricks, and beyond.

You'll be part of a cross-functional team building software for large-scale data processing, maintaining engineering best practices, and evangelizing the platform across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS), infrastructure-as-code, and programming languages like Python/Scala, combined with excellent communication skills and a passion for quality software craftsmanship.
