Senior Software Engineer - NCP

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Native Client Platform team. This role is crucial in developing the Disney eXperience Composer, a bespoke solution for serving interactive experiences to users. The position involves working with Disney Markup Language and building renderer components that directly impact millions of global consumers.

The role sits within Disney's media technology division, which forms the technological backbone for Disney's global media business. As part of the Product Engineering team, you'll be responsible for engineering digital and streaming products and platforms that serve Disney+, Hulu, ABC News, ESPN, and more.

The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in Rust and JavaScript/TypeScript with the ability to build sophisticated user interfaces and optimize for low memory footprint. You'll be working on consumer-facing interactive experiences, particularly in video playback contexts, and collaborating across Disney's streaming brands.

This position offers competitive compensation varying by location, with base salary ranges from $138,900 to $203,900 depending on the city. The role provides an opportunity to work on technology that shapes industry norms and enhances how audiences experience sports, entertainment & news, while being part of a team that reaches millions of consumers every day.

The position requires strong technical skills, leadership ability, and experience with modern development tools. You'll be working in a hybrid environment, primarily on-site with occasional work from home flexibility, across multiple major tech hubs in the US.
